products for the comfort and safety of your fur baby. Our equipment is state of the art. Our pet stylists always stay up to date on the latest trends and procedures in the industry – regularly attending continuing education seminars and classes. We strive to work hand in hand with your veterinarian and will evaluate your pet for any health issues and recommend veterinary care if necessary.
What to expect with your pet’s visit:
Upon arrival, if you are new to Doggone Pretty Inc., you will be greeted by a receptionist who will ask you to fill out a New Client Card, sign a waiver, and take your pet’s vaccine history. Your assigned groomer will always greet you & your pet. At this time, your groomer will assess your pet & ask questions about your pet’s health, behavior, and grooming needs. We will ask detailed questions about how you like your pet groomed, and offer advice as necessary. Pricing will be discussed as well, along with an estimated time of finishing your pet’s groom.
Once your pet is in our care, we will take him/her outside to our fenced in grassy area for potty time. We find most pets are excited & sometimes a bit nervous & benefit from a chance to eliminate & get some fresh air.
Your pet will begin the grooming process shortly thereafter with a soothing bath with shampoo & conditioner appropriate to your pet’s needs & coat. This is followed by a warm refreshing blow dry & brushing.
Depending on the grooming package chosen, and your pet’s specific needs, he/she will be given a breed standard trim, or trimmed to your specific wants & needs. Shedding dogs will receive a coat blow out, brushing or carding of loose hair. All pets will receive finish spray & cologne for a sleek, nice smelling coat. As part of our all inclusive process, your pet will receive a nail trim & filling for extra smoothness, as well as anal glands expressed, ears cleaned & ear hair removed, to the comfort of your pet. We will be sure to wipe & brush any loose hair from your pet. Bandanas & bows are by request. Your pet’s collar, harness, and any other belongings will be on your pet or in a designated area for convenience.
At this time, you will be notified by text or phone call that your pet is ready. Anyone leaving their pet longer than one hour once you are contacted, may incur a dat care charge, depending on length of time left.
After the grooming process, your pet will be given a comfy blanket & water. Pets staying with us for an extended time will be given another potty break.
Most pets will need to stay with us 2-4 hours at the most, often going home sooner, depending on groomer’s schedule, pet’s behavior or coat condition. We will contact you if the timeframe varies for any reason.
At check out, our receptionist will take payment & schedule your next visit. It is strongly advised to book at this time to ensure not waiting too long for your next appointment. When this is taken care of, your groomer will bring up your pet. We will go over the grooming process related to your pet, and discuss any health, coat, or behavior issues, as well as suggestions.
